Happy Thanksgiving

Today is a day that we, particularly in the United States, take the time to be thankful. Though some may thank others for various reasons or may be just generally thankful, as Christians we are primarily thankful to God, our Creator, Redeemer, and Friend. God is the one to whom we owe our lives, He is the one who provides for us and sustains us through the good times and the bad.

After we have given thanks to God our Father, let us not forget to thank each other for the role we play in each other’s lives. It is amazing how far a simple thank you can go, especially if they are rare. So, today, after we have given thanks to God at the dinner table, turn to those around you and thank the ones sitting at the table with you. But don’t stop there, after the meal, pick up your phone and call those you couldn’t be with and thank them as well. It doesn’t have to be a long call, just long enough to say thank you.

Celebrate this day of thanksgiving by giving thanks! Then let the thank yous continue throughout the year.
